Ms. Hamilton has done it again!

I know there has been a lot of discussion from other readers of this series about the emphasis on sex, but, in all honesty, it fits with the type of book that Ms. Hamilton has written. Anita Blake is evolving into something, just don't know what as of yet. Yes, Ms. Hamilton doesn't really need to get so explicit in the sex scenes but it is necessary to described how Anita and her "monsters" are changing. It just needs to be toned down. I have all of the books and have read them in order and have a couple of more to read and I am finding it most interesting how much each character has changed since they were first introduced. The sex needs to be toned down and besides, Anita had sooooo much sex in one book that I don't know know she could walk! Taking on numerous "monsters" that are "well endowed" right after another is a bit much and is hard to swallow (excuse the pun). But I like the story lines very much.

Bloody Bones begins with Anita having to go out of town to raise a 300-hundred year old zombie. But nothing is every simple for Ms. Blake, ever. She know must try to help the local police and FBI, who don't want her help, find a killer. And this killer is different from any monster she has seen so far. Not only that, but she also must deal with her vampire who won't stay away, but she needs his help. With all of this going on, she still has to do her job, and help the police.
This book was really good. I really enjoyed this one a whole lot. And I loved that Anita spent more time with the Master Vampire of her city. I also liked learning more about the vampires in general it was really need. And we even got to learn some new things about some new types of monsters that she had to deal with. I can not wait to read more in this series!

This fifth book was much, much, MUCH better than the fourth (I have yet to read a series where the author hasn't hit a slump on the fourth book, so I've actually named this phenomenon, "the fourth book slump"...).
I am enthralled by Anita's world in general, & this book had enough non-stop vamp action/bad-guy action to keep me thoroughly interested the ENTIRE way through...
Not to mention a few unexpected twists+turns (unexpected by me at least) that I found enjoyable and somewhat exciting.
*** possible spoiler alert below ***
My only qualm is that I want Anita to give in to J.C. already! I mean, cha'mon, Laurell!!! It's irritating! Just let them get it on!
*YES, I realize that asking for that to happen IS redonkulous, considering how long ago this book was written, & how many more books are after this one, but it's how I feel, & I thought I'd throw it in because I'm CERTAIN that others feel (or felt, hopefully) the exact same way.
Anyway.... Solid writing. Great fifth book in series. Buy it!
